Topic: Prize Asst
What went well: Volunteer desk expected me and knew where to send me. Good training by the morning volunteer. Good oversight and help by the lead prize team (Lisa and Bob Campbell). Nearly all prize winners were happy with the entire event and were very pleasant and thankful when they presented to our desk which shows that the event planning was good and other volunteers were doing their jobs well.
How to make job better: The flow of documents/data could be a little more streamlined. I gave one recommendation to Lisa which she incorporated into her summary. I'm sure there is more that could be done though, as we received a hand-written list of results from the finish line and then had to handwrite it again for someone to type onto a computer.
Would you do the same job next year? Sure. I would also be open to doing more pre-race work. I have a fair bit of project mgmt and process improvement experience so could potentially be used in a number of ways.
